Storage recommendations

Storage recommendations for the professional user
It is generally important that anyone working in a hospitality, catering or institutional kitchen is familiar with how to work hygienically and is trained in this respect. Smilde Foods is closely involved in developing the FSIN storage recommendations which you can download here.

Storage recommendations for the consumer
The packaging displays how long the product can be stored for. If a product has been opened or there is no best before date, the Food Centre storage guide includes some useful guidelines. It is important that the fridge is never above 7°C. The fridge should preferably be set at 4°C. Place products which a short shelf life, or which have been opened, in the coldest part of the fridge and cover them well.
The free storage guide, with useful tips about buying, cooking and storing your food smartly, can be downloaded here, or you can order it from the Food Centrewebsite. This list applies only to products which have been purchased and not to products you have prepared or frozen yourself.
